“Nahal” short film festival is Iran’s prominent student film event (Founded in 2003). It is held by Tehran University of Arts’ faculty of Cinema and Theatre’s students every year. The festival’s main objective is to provide a proper basis and a healthy environment for talented students to compete, prove their capabilities and put their works on display. Nahal Also features retrospectives of both short and long films of well-known directors, holding various workshops to improve both theeducational level of the students and their practicability as well. Creating an efficient connection between young filmmakers and cinematic organizations are also other goals of Nahal short film festival Selectiveness, quality of screenings and high standards of the juries quickly made this festival a significant place to introduce new artists. Nahal’s most distinct quality from audiences point of view is having no content related censorship. The 12th annual Nahal short film festival will be held in June 2015 withShauheenDaneshfar as its president.
